Techniques of craftmanship

Stained glass crimped with lead

- Elaboration of the model layout
-  Enlargement and making of an assembly paperboard and stencil
-  Cutting of the glass using the template or free hand
-  Decoration of the glass pieces with grisaille, jaune d’argent and enamel
-  Crimping with lead and soldering with tin
-  Cementing

Stained glass Tiffany style

-  Elaboration of the model layout
-  Enlargement and making of an assembly paperboard and stencil
-  Cutting of the glass using the template or free hand
-  Decoration of the glass pieces with grisaille, jaune d’argent and enamel
-  Grinding the edges of the pieces
-  Framing the pieces using adhesive copper ribbon
-  Soldering with tin
-  Polishing

Fusing

Firing at a temperature between 750 et 850 °C of multiple layers of superposed glass, a glass support and decorated glass, to join them by thermal fusion.

Thermal fusion

Firing of a piece of glass on an embossed support to a temperature beyond its point of fusion so as to give it a special shape..

These latter two techniques, fusing and thermal fusion, can be used together.
